Research topics

Don’t know what to write about? Use these simple tips and make your research paper a perfect one! First of all, the topic has to be interesting and challenging for you. Consider some important aspects and parts of your life and their meaning to you. It has to be something you care about.

You have to determine the purpose and the goal of your paper. Is it to inform or to persuade the reader? Different goals require different types of writings.

Once you are done with the purpose and interest think about the ranges of your topics. You have to keep in mind that your subject has to be specific so try to narrow it down but be careful: there are some topics that are too technical and it will be really hard and boring to write about them. Also there are some topics which can be lacking in sources of information. You need to make sure that you will be able to find information for background, supporting and opposing sides, some statistics or historical examples and quotes of experts.

You can find inspiration for your topic everywhere: use your notes from school, textbooks, newspapers, magazines, books, TV, Internet. You can even ask your friends, parents or grandma.

Make sure that chosen field is suitable for the purpose, time, and space limitation requirements of your research paper work. Be creative and make your topic stand out!

There is a different way to find your topic, so if the guideline above didn’t help you much, read how to brainstorm your research topic ideas.

You can also find detailed information about research paper topics in general or a list of topics for research papers.
