Research Topic Ideas

The best way to get some ideas for your research topic is brainstorming. It is not that hard if you do everything right: the key here is to concentrate. Sit down in a quiet room, take a piece of paper and write down all the ideas that are in your head. You can write random words, verbs and adjectives. Look around and write few things that caught your attention, for example, you noticed Australian continent on your map or an electric lamp in your room. There is a huge variety of different topics about Australia so narrow it down and make a separate list of topics about Australia. Electric lamp is a great invention of a mankind and not everybody knows about its history. Even those things which seem simple from the first sight can make an interesting topic also, only if you put some thinking in it.

You can also take a walk in the street and there might be a Ford driving by, hat caught your attention. Ford Company has an interesting history which can also make a good research paper topic.

Look through your notebooks and think about topic that got you interested. You can narrow it down or change it a little bit so you will be able to find some new information on the subject.

Go to the closest bookstore and look through different books there. While being around them, creative ideas get flowing.

You can also find inspiration in latest newspapers and magazines that always list the most current issues of the world. TV and Internet can also help you with your topics. You can even find a good topic while reading your friends’ updates on Facebook or Twitter.

It is also a good idea to ask your family and friends for help. Listen to their opinions whether it would be interesting for them to read a research paper on a certain issue or not.

When the list of your topics is pretty long, try to pick three topics that are the most interesting for you and then find out which one of them meets 3 factors which are important for topics for research papers and another list of research topics.

For further ideas on how to write a research paper itself, once you have decided with your topic go to research paper topics section or use another list of research paper topic ideas.
